WILLS
There are many reasons why it is important to make a Will. First, you can choose a trusted person or people to carry out the wishes expressed in your Will.
Secondly, you can choose the most appropriate people to receive your various possessions and the residue of your estate generally and you can incorporate provisions in favour of secondary beneficiaries, should your primary beneficiaries die before you. Also, you can indicate the reasons why you may not be including someone as a beneficiary. Finally, you can provide for any animals which you may have and which may outlive you.
INHERITANCE TAX
We can help you mitigate the amount of Inheritance Tax which may be payable on the value of your estate and on gifts you have made, by taking advantage of the various exemptions available and through the use of trusts.
THE ADMINISTRATION OF ESTATES
We can help in the administration of estates which is often a long and complicated process. This would include arranging for mail redirection, the clearance of furniture, valuations of assets, calculating and settling Inheritance Tax, arranging for the sale or transfer of shares and other investments, etc.
SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY
We make home visits if clients are unable to come to our office and we can help with such matters as arranging residential care, the payment of bills, the completion of Tax Returns and liaising with the Office of the Public Guardian. We can also help with General and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
TRUSTS
There are many reasons for establishing a Trust Fund and there are several different types of Trust. Trusts may be used to protect a fund of money or to protect a vulnerable individual financially or to mitigate Inheritance Tax. We can help by drafting Settlements and then by helping with their management.
